Power of Attorney (POA) -- Federal regulations require WELCO to have your written authorization to act on your behalf with Customs. This standard form is called a Power of Attorney (POA).

1.    Please complete the downloadable POA form on our Getting Started page.

     OR

2. If you want WELCO to prepare the POA for your company so it is ready for the signatures of two corporate officers, please include all the necessary information below and the required EIN verification from the IRS.

full name of the corporation
state in which the company is incorporated
main corporate street address, city, state, and zip code
Employer Identification Number (EIN) issued by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS)
The EIN must be verified by a document issued by the IRS.
full names and titles of the two corporate officers signing
Corporate officers are president, vice president, treasurer, CEO, CFO, etc.

A document issued by the IRS to verify the EIN is required.



Customs bonds -- All importers must have a Customs bond.

1.    You can get a bond that covers only one shipment. It is called a single entry bond.

OR

2. WELCO can help importers obtain a bond that covers all their imports for 12 months. It is called a continuous Customs bond.

A continuous Customs bond will save you money.
A continuous Customs bond covers all your entry bond requirements for all your imports.
A continuous Customs bond facilitates faster clearances.
A continuous Customs bond covers the Importer Security Filing (ISF) bond requirements.

WELCO must have your POA and payment to begin the continuous bond application process.

1.    In order for WELCO to arrange your cargo insurance, please provide specific information:

total value
commodity description
number of shipping packages
gross weight and dimensions of each shipping package
overseas origin
destination in the USA



international air cargo transport -- Get your shipments fast by airfreight.

  In order for WELCO to arrange your international air cargo transport, please provide these specifics:

commodity description
number of shipping packages
gross weight and dimensions of each shipping package
overseas origin
date available to pickup
destination in the USA
your required delivery date



Importer Security Filing (ISF) -- Customs requires ISF for all cargo entering the USA by ship.

1. Please ensure that WELCO has this information at least 48 hours before the goods are loaded onto the ship destined to the United States.

  U.S. Customs requires importers to submit specific data at least 24 hours before the goods are loaded onto a ship destined to the United States.
  Failure to file, or even late filing, can result in a $5000 penalty for the importer.

AND

2. In order for WELCO to transmit the ISF data on your behalf, please provide the following information:

complete ocean bill of lading number
container stuffing location name and address
consolidator name and address
manufacturer or supplier name and address
seller name and address
consignee name and address
consignee federal identification number
buyer name and address
importer federal identification number
country of origin
commodity tariff numbers



international ocean cargo transport -- Get your shipments by sea freight.

1. In order for WELCO to arrange your international ocean cargo transport, please provide these specifics:

commodity description
number of shipping packages
gross weight and dimensions of each shipping package
overseas origin
destination in the USA



shipment tracking -- Know when to expect your shipments.

1. If WELCO is coordinating your international air and/or ocean cargo transport, then you have no problems.
  We already have the information to provide you with regular and reliable updates for your shipments.
 WELCO makes every possible effort to deliver shipments on time.
 Secure tracing is available on for registered clients with cargo destined to the United States.

      OR

2. If another company is arranging your international air and/or ocean cargo transport, WELCO will provide you with updates about your shipments after we have the following information:

 for air shipments -- Master Air Waybill (MAWB) number

  for ocean shipments -- Master Ocean Bill of Lading (MOBL) number including the Standard Carrier Alpha Code (SCAC)

  Arrivals from overseas and deliveries within the USA are estimated due to government exams, weather patterns, and other unpredictable occurrences that may affect your shipment
  The Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) becomes more reliable as the shipments get closer to the consignee.
 WELCO will keep tracking and keep you advised.



Customs clearances -- WELCO handles Customs clearances throughout the USA.

1.    Please refer to our Getting Started page under "Send your import documents to WELCO."

          OR

2.    If you are an experienced importer, send your documents to WELCO.
